Registration
Registration may only be submitted through your Region VII Associate Hospital Emergency Department Manager/EMS Coordinator TO their respective Resource Hospital EMS Coordinator. Please remember that both parties must sign the form for approval. The forms should be to the Resource Hospital EMS Coordinators 30 days prior to the candidate’s requested course. Candidate emails must be legible as all materials and correspondence are emailed to the candidates.
The ECRN Profile Sheet for Region 7 may be printed here. Please print legibly when filling it out.
Prepare for the Course
ECRN candidates should follow all instructions as emailed to them prior to the course including reviewing the Region 7 SMOs on the SMO page of this website and completing the ALS SMO study guide.
ECRN Course Completion and Licensure Requirements
Once an ECRN candidate successfully completes their ECRN course they have 90 days to complete all course requirements including their ALS Field Ride Time and their ALS Telemetry Calls. Verification forms for ride time and radio calls are listed below along with the remaining items required for licensing with IDPH. Submit these items to your Hospital EMS Coordinator:
1. ECRN ALS Telemetry Preceptor Call Log Form
2. ECRN ALS Field Ambulance Ride Time Form
3. IDPH Personal History/Renewal Notice Blank Form
4. Copy of current BLS CPR, ACLS, PALS, and either TNS, TNCC or PHTLS Cards
The System will submit your paperwork electronically to IDPH. Within about 2-4 weeks IDPH will generate your licensure instruction email with your unique PIN # instructing you to log into IDPH online to pay your $55 license fee so your license will be issued. IF YOU DO NOT PAY THEN YOU WILL NOT BE LICENSED. Once you have your IDPH emailed PIN and instructions for payment click here: IDPH Fee Payment to pay your fee.
Once you have paid your fee online, wait about 10 minutes then click on the “IDPH LICENSE LOOK-UP link on the top of this page to view your IDPH license.
The last step to start working as an ECRN is to be entered into an EMS System through your hospital employer. Please contact your hospital’s ER / EMS Coordinator to ensure System entry requirements are met.
